Emergency First Responder Course

Creating Confidence to Care

This or some other form of First Aid is a pre-requisite to receiving certification of the PADI Rescue Diver. The PADI EFR course is split into two parts Primary and Secondary Care and is not just focused at divers. This course is valuable for anyone to take as it teaches you how to deal with emergencies you may come across in day to day life.

The Primary Care section of the course teaches you how to respond to life threatening emergencies and helps to give you the confidence to provide care if a real life emergency were to arise. Skills such as scene assessment, barrier use, primary assessment, rescue breathing, airway management, bleeding management and shock management are taught.

The Secondary Care section of the course covers injury and illness which are not immediately life threatening and this part of the course focuses on first aid. We teach skills such as injury assessment, illness assessment, bandaging, splinting for dislocations and fractures, electrical injuries and burn injuries.

Certification following this course is valid for 2 years after which a re-fresher will be needed to ensure that you stay current with any changes.

The course is performance based and usually takes a Saturday to complete. The course cost is £95.00 and will be run on Saturday 23rd October 2010.

To book a place on this course or for any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us at tony@triodiveinternational.co.uk or call on 01375 393839.

Specialty Of The Month - Search & Recovery

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost “treasure”? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Small, large or just awkward, there is a way to bring them up. From a wedding ring or a weight belt to a lost diver the PADI Search and Recovery Specialty course gives you the basic theoretical knowledge and practical experience to help you find it. On the course you will be shown various ways of conducting search patterns and find lost items and lift them to the surface.

It’s fun to use the lift bag. Not only are these skills fun, but very practical and ultimately useful because eventually, you’ll lose something in the water. As a Search and Recovery Diver, you’ll gain the techniques and know what search patterns to use to search for and recover it. This speciality course will count towards a Master Scuba Diver Certification. The course itself is just one full days diving in open water and will be run on Saturday 16th October 2010.

The course cost is £125.00 and will be run on Saturday 16th October.
